Pluto and Uranus in Transit: Rocking, Rolling Times Ahead!

My Altar

According to Tony Perez’s book of spells entitled KULAM, it is important to find a nice quiet room or place where you will not be disturbed as you do your spells and other prayers. It would be nice if you have a real prayer or study room that you can be alone at. As for me, I chose my study room for it is the least used inside the house and it is where I feel most at peace. On my study table, that’s where I made my altar. According to Tony Perez, it doesn’t matter where you put your altar. It can be as grand as you want it to be or as simple as spreadinga  piece of scarf on an old table or top of a bookshelf or drawer. The important thing is for your altar to contain the following:

Let Unhappiness Be Gone!

Full Moon has always been associated with negative mystical stuff.  Like in folklore, it is a superstition that certain human beings can change into a wolf, or is capable of assuming the form of a wolf, while retaining human intelligence at this time of the month.  They are called werewolves. They also say that vampires are at their strongest,  mananaggals strike their prey and so on and so forth.  But as for me, full moon has always been a sight of beauty, especially when seen from the beach or the fields. However, tonight, I will be content to wonder at its glory right at the comforts of our own balcony. And while I soak its luminiscent beams, I have here a spell that I will cast to help me keep moving forward and to always stay happy...

Wiccan Symbols

    Pagans, Witches and Wiccans of the past traditions use symbols for many things such as rituals, spells, ceremonies, enchantments , etc. They also use it for anything they need in everyday life. There are various symbols with many different connotations. Each of these symbols has a basic sense but they all mean different things and represent different feelings and actions to different people. The list I got here are the most common Wiccan Symbols courtesy of Angel Fire and Beginner Wicca. 

The pentagram is a five pointed star commonly associated with Wicca. In Wiccan/Pagan lore, the pentagram symbolizes the five elements- earth, air, water, fire, and spirit. The Wiccan emblematic pentagram faces point upward to symbolize the triumph of spirit over matter; the Satanic pentagram is transposed, point downwards, to symbolize earthly gratification. Some Wiccan grades also utilize a reversed pentacle, although for different purposes.  Based on numerology, the five points means the pentacle symbolizes the Earth element and can be used as an Earth symbol on an altar. A pentagram enclosed within a circle is known as a pentacle.

In Wiccan and Neopagan belief, the triquetra symbolizes the triple aspected goddess (maid, mother, and crone). Some Christians have protested this “appropriation” of the symbol…however, ironically enough, the original Christian fish symbol was derived from an early symbol of Venus, one representing female generative organs- making the triquetra perfectly appropriate symbol for a Goddess revival. The triquetra is also considered to represent the triplicities of mind, body, and soul, as well as the three domains of earth- earth, sea, and sky.  And yes,   this is the symbol from the popular TV show “Charmed”. Why they chose the triquetra for their Book of Shadows was perhaps for the protection the symbol carries, or possibly because it’s exotic without being threatening. Like the triskele, this Celtic symbol embodies the sacred  number 3, as seen in the 3 phases of the Goddess (maiden, mother, crone) and the 3 elements of nature (land, sky, sea). During the period of early Christianity, the triquetra took on further meaning as the Holy Trinity. This symbol is also seen with a circle going though it.

The Septagram, a continuously drawn figure having seven points, is far less common than the pentagram. It is however important in Western Kabbalah, where it symbolizes the sphere of Netzach, the seven planets, the seven alchemical metals, and the seven days of the week. It is a sacred symbol to Wiccans who follow the “Faery” tradition, where it is called the Elven or Fairy star. The seven pointed star is also an important part of the seal of the A.A., the inner order of Aleister Crowley’s OTO. The seven pointed star has a few names: septagram, septacle, Elven star or fairy star. The number seven corresponds to the spirit realm, which is why this symbol is associated with elves or fairies. There are no set representations for each of the points, but they are sometimes labeled: earth, air, fire, water, above, below and within. The septagram is also associated with astrology because the classical view of the sky contained seven planets.

The spiral is probably the oldest symbol of human spirituality. It has been found scratched into rocks from thousands of years ago, on every continent in the world. The religious significance can only be guessed, but it has been found on tombs, and possibly has a connection with the sun- the sun makes a spiral shape every three months in its travels. In modern times, the spiral is still spiritually significant. It is the symbol of spirit in Wicca, an emblem of the Goddess.

This is a representation of the Horned God, who in Wicca represents the masculine polarity of the universe.

There are several styles of the Lunar Triple Goddess symbol, representing the three aspects of the moon (waxing, waning, and full) and womankind (mother, maiden, crone), as well as the Lady, or Goddess, the feminine polarity of the universe. It is associated with feminine energy, mystery and psychic abilities. You often see this symbol on crowns or other head-pieces, particularly worn by High Priestesses.

The eight-pointed Wheel of the Year symbol marks the important holy days, or Sabbaths, in the Wiccan Ritual calendar. It is derived from the sun wheel, a pre-Christian European calendar marking the Solstices and Equinoxes.

The Cauldron is drawn from ancient Celtic mythology, and is sometimes called the Cup or Cauldron of Cerridwen. As a Wiccan ritual tool, it is mostly symbolic. Most often used to represent the fire or water elements, the cauldron is sometimes employed for scrying, for mixing herbs, for consecration, or to hold the ingredients for a spell. It is generally held to be a feminine symbol.

Of Zac Efron, Hiding & Running Away

As exciting as it sounds like, I did dream about Zac Efron but not in the way that I wouldv’e chosen it to be. I was back in my dead grandmama’s old house in the province but the scenery took place behind the cemented walls where fields of rice used to be. In my dream, it still looked like a field.

An Introduction to Wicca

I am reposting this from Lady Rose’s & Mama Kelly’s blog which I frequent at this time. As a young Wiccan (witch), I feel compelled to learn everything there is to learn about it, as much as I can, for as long as I can. This is not a joke for me. It is now my lifestyle. I am a Catholic on paper , has been  a protestant at one point in my life,  turned next into atheism  then agnosticism for a long while. Meet Your Friendly Neighborhood Witch by Lady Rose

When trying to explain what it means to be a witch or what wicca is, it is useful to have some overall definitions, a bit of historical perspective, and clear up some common misconceptions.  I have put together this little introduction for those who are just curious, regular readers who are not wiccan or witches, or for any one who is interested in an overview of what is the foundation of this blog as well as the religious\spiritual path that we follow.

DEFINITIONS

• Wicca or Wiccan: Refers to the “religion” or practice of the craft of the wise.
• Witch: Wise one, practitioner of the wise arts; can be either male or female.
• Pagan: Someone who practices a religion or spiritual tradition that is not based on Christianity. There are many, many traditions that are based on practices that pre-date Christianity. Not all pagans are witches, though Wicca is considered a “pagan” tradition.

Not everyone who uses the term “witch” is referring to someone who is Wiccan. Often people call someone (or call themselves) a witch because they read tarot cards, light candles for meditations, work with herbal remedies, do energy healing work or practice any number of various “occult” (hidden) practices.

However, for the purposes of this blog, the term “witch” is used to refer to someone whose spiritual practices are of the Wiccan tradition.

Transformation in Marriage

The first  part of my day  was spent with Peter, which will most likely be the case from now on since his work finishes at around 8am or so which is around the same time that I wake up.  We had breakfast together, hung out at the lanai for a while over tea and cigarettes then watched the beautiful and interesting character of Melinda Gordon in Ghost Whisperer reruns. I love her dresses by the way. I promise to wear similar styles when I finally own my little boutique shop soon (hopefully).

The Dark Before Dawn

Two weeks before I finally decided to quit my job and take some time off from work to know myself more and hopefully discern my calling, I drew the following spread in my Tarot cards. It was a dark time for me. I was not at peace and my heart was always calling out to something more… more than the daily grind of working for money. It was yearning for something that is both meaningful and productive. I still don’t know what that is. But I am grateful for the time that I am allowed to rest, take care of personal matters and hopefully be at peace.
